Prom Tips! Enjoying Your Prom 2012.

Hello girly's (and gents) as you all may know prom is approaching for many of you high school sweethearts (and singles like I was) and it's right around the corner. Even though I'm not in high school any more (I'm so old haha) I know that it's prom season. When I was in high school (graduated 2010) prom use to be around May and even in other parts of the U.S it could be April or even sooner since classes end in different days.
How ever I sadly didn't go to my prom which I honestly wished I did, but I did go to my middle school prom which I have many fond memories of (does that count?).

Here are five tips to having the best prom ever.

                                                                             .
                                                                             .
                                                                             .
                                                                             .
                                                                             .
1. To Attend Or Not To Attend
Most of you ladies and gentlemen are pondering the thought of whether or not you should go to prom. My answers is YES! You only get to experience your senior year once and having the chance to go to prom should be one amazing experience. Even though you might not favor your school or teachers and think your senior year wasn't the best you have a wonderful chance to have fun with your friends one more time and let loose. Some might want to go but sadly cant afford the expensive ticket to prom, sometimes talking to a teacher or school counselor can help and they will help you attend prom free of charge.

At the end of the night you will have a blast with your friends
2. Choosing A Dress
Choosing a dress or Tux can be a very hard ordeal to deal with that's why it's best to start searching 2 months before prom to make sure you found the right one that will make you feel like a million dollars. When searching for the right dress make sure that it fits into the dress code that your school applied. Always remember to wear a dress that you feel 100% confident and comfortable and don't worry about what others are wearing or think about your dress as long as you love it. If you can't afford a prom dress don't worry there are many places that will gladly help you have a wonderful prom dress. http://www.beccascloset.org/ or http://www.salvationarmyusa.org/usn/www_usn_2.nsf

Please don't dress like this to prom it looks tacky and cheap.
Or like this

It is a formal high school prom not a night at the club.
3. Don't Deny An Invitation
It takes so much courage and guts to ask out someone to prom. I know many people who plan out how to ask their significant other to prom or even their crush in a sweet yet unique manner. After going through so much trouble and practicing in the mirror it would crush the person if you said no. If you are worried about saying yes and not being able to hang out with your friends at prom you can always talk it over to your date and have a plan on spending time with both of your friends. If you were already asked by someone else and accepted you can always deny in a nice and respectful way.

Creative, but which one is the ask-er?
4. Expensive Items
When attending prom you don't want to go with your most expensive possessions. Remember that you want to enjoy the night away dancing and celebrating and not have to worry about taking care of expensive items or even losing them. If you do need to carry essentials as in your phone, money and keys have a clutch with a strap so you can always carry it in your hand. Do not wear expensive accessories such as jewelry you might loose while dancing or expensive shoes you don't want to ruin. If you want to have beautiful memories of your special night carry a small digital camera that could fit in your clutch, don't bring an expensive Nikon or Canon so it wont get lost or stolen.

The best accessory a girl can have, a corsage.
5. On The Dance Floor
One of the best parts of prom after the three course meal is the dancing. We all cant wait to dance the night away to our favorite tunes as we sing along. As you all know one of the most important aspects of us girls attire besides our dress, hair and makeup is our shoes. 99.9% of the time girls go to prom in high heels but as many know towards the night some girls might get a little bit tired and head off the dance floor and remove their shoes. Guess what? That is a big NO. Taking of your shoes to dance barefoot looks very tacky, unladylike and manner less. If you are afraid your shoes might hurt your feet you can take sandals with you and then at the end of the night switch back to your heels. By being barefoot you are risking your feet to other dancers and they will be likely stepped on, you could also even lose a shoe (i've seen it happen before). You do not want to go home with only one shoe in hand.

Remember to enjoy your prom and dance the night away.
I hope these five tips where helpful to you all. Have a wonderful time at prom and don't forget to take loads of pictures so you can always have them and look back at the fun times spent in your high school prom. Don't be afraid to pull those awkward dance moves and just be yourself and have a blast. Please be safe and don't get to crazy.

Have fun!
