Why We Do What We Do

For as long as he could remember, our patient Peter did not like his front teeth. Through the years, Dr. William Lund discussed with him his treatment options, but Peter was never ready to go through with any of them. In December 2012, Peter made the decision to finally fix his front teeth.

Here is the email he sent the day after Dr. William Lund cemented in his 6 beautiful anterior porcelain crowns. This is why our job is so rewarding.

Good Morning Dr. Lund,
I guess I could send a card to you and your wonderful staff, but I am afraid it would lack something in spontaneity. I stumbled into the bathroom last night at 3AM and caught a glimpse of this guy with beautiful teeth!! After 10 minutes mirror gazing, I went back to bed but not without seriously considering booting up the computer to write this note right then. What I was thinking was that in a procedure (replacing all my front teeth) where to me it seems that there must be hundreds of things that can go wrong, where it’s not just science and math but art, nuance, and detail…how did everything go so well? I've always had the greatest appreciation for your workmanship,(remember that that molar you rebuilt from scratch years ago like it was nothing?), but I also admire what it must have taken to build such a thriving practice over decades, stay at the cutting edge of the profession, and raise a family. I can only imagine how rewarding it must be to have a daughter working alongside you. To me that speaks volumes about not just your professional ability but about who you are. This is why I never considered another dentist for this procedure and was 120% confident in your office. And this brings me to my final point…the beautiful teeth are not just due to a couple of common components but to all the ingredients that you put into it – because you put your all into your work and the result is always outstanding – really it is an art and you are an exceptional artist. All the about seems to be such a rare thing today and I wanted to say how appreciative I am for all of it before I get swallowed up in my work etc. Many thanks to you and all your people. Please feel free to print and post publicly. Best, Peter
