Duterte the Entrepreneur; The Muhammad Yunus of The Philippines (Using Education as a Need to the Republic)

Mr. Duterte’s platform on SMEs in the Philippines radiates the hope of the SMEs in the provinces and the rural farmers.  His eagerness to help the small and medium enterprise awakens the hope of the poor and middle class Filipino people.  If we look at the bigger picture of entrepreneurship and its economic effect to the national and international level of the country, Mr. Duterte’s platform in terms of Entrepreneurship clearly states a parallel stance in terms of the federalism structure that he is always imposing since the start of the campaign.   His enthusiasm to help the poor and the middle class in terms of entrepreneurship will not only affect relatively to the SME businesses but also to the academic standard of the whole country.

When Mr. Duterte amplify his educational program for the country, some citizens are wondering as to how the country can survive without the main courses of mathematics like calculus and algebra.  On the contrary some academics and learners are also happy that the curriculum is not giving the learners a wide area of academic task to accomplish during their academic and university life.  In a way, the plan of Mr. Duterte advances more to the modern approach of education in which the learners are guided to their area of study.  Given as an example, if the learner wants to focus his or her study in engineering then loads of mathematical subjects are integrated in the curriculum.  This kind of approach are already being practiced by almost all advance countries using the curriculum program of IB & IGCSE used by most international schools around the world.  As for the moment Mr. Duterte is giving more budget in education knowing that highly educated human resource will lead to the economic prosperity of the country.  I don’t believe that Mr. Duterte will abandon the education program of our country Philippines that in fact he himself is a believer of education in the field of Social Science and Law.

Subsequently, his concern on the food program of the Philippines will eventually connect to the education program and advance research in agriculture.  Let us not forget that long time ago (1970’s) if I’m not mistaken, our rice research in our country Philippines is the leading rice agriculture research in Asia, but look at the standing of Philippines in terms of rice research.  If Mr. Duterte will lead every student to their career path since elementary and High school level according to their desired career and design then every learner can improve their knowledge in their desired academic and career path.
