Innovation the Duterte Way
Reading few seconds ago from an article in Philstar news network discussing the topic that the Philippines is lagging behind in terms of innovation and technology. A further comment refers to the ranking of the country Philippines in terms of technology is in a decline.
Let us not forget that innovation and technological infrastructures are being manipulated by capitalist. Now the shift of investors in the country points to the innovation and infrastructure from U.S. made technology towards the products from emerging markets like Russia, India, and other Asia and ASEAN member countries.
At present the companies that are still in Philippines are dominate with American brands like the Pharmaceutical products, Engineering products, and other consumer products that made our Filipino consumer suffer more in terms of purchasing power. Let us not forget that technologies from emerging markets are far more affordable for the general public and the quality is not that left behind granting that technology and innovation is accessible globally now. I believe that our President, in my honest opinion, is finding a way to allow our Filipino citizens buy smartphones for example that will not hurt their budget for food in the family. To exemplify, why buy Iphone product when Huawei can serve similar convenience in smartphone technology.
If we consider other countries around ASEAN like Malaysia, Indonesia, Korea, Thailand, & Vietnam they all patronize their own consumer product brands allowing their SME companies to flourish in terms of profit and eventually help build a national economy of the nation.
If the capitalist from the multinational companies will still dominate in our domestic market (Philippine Market) they can still control our economy and control our people’s food in the table.
I DON’T BELIEVE THAT OUR PRESIDENT IS NOT CONCERN ABOUT SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY AND THE RELATIONSHIP TO BUSINESS. HE IS JUST FINDING WAYS AND MEANS THAT EVERY FILIPINO WILL BE FREE FROM POVERTY AND THE CAPITALIST.
Just a thought, when do we have our own Car Brand or Smart Phone Brand for example? Stop following and start innovating. Don’t let American technology control your App. Real innovators can stand by themselves. Let us Innovate the Duterte way.
