Tesla Model X SUV is now Available in Lower Price | Margins Improved
On Friday, Tesla lowered the base price of its SUV Model X from $82500 to $79500. They have achieved efficiency and they can lower the price and pass along more value to their customers. Tesla recently launched its low price car Model 3.
Many analysts are saying that the Model 3 whose base price is $35000 which is very low than the other famous automaker companies, would not let the people to buy this Model X SUV.
But Musk said that demand had not waned for the luxury electric sport utility vehicle.
Tesla said on Friday: “When we launched Model X75D, it had a low gross margin. As we have achieved efficiency, we are able to lower the price and pass along more value to our customers.”
Tesla is providing the most expensive version of the Model X, the P100D, which has longer range, fastest acceleration and costs $145000.

Musk said that the launch of the Model 3 had not cannibalized the Model X sales, and the demand for the Model X and Model S had actually increased with the release of the lower priced vehicle.
Tesla Model 3 electric car has $35000 cost and it provides a range of 350 km (220 miles) mileage on a single charge which makes it the luxury electric car. A longer range version of the electric car is priced at $44000 which will drive 500 km (310 miles) on a single charge. It has a 15 inch touch screen display to the right of the driver and a streamlined dashboard devoid of buttons or knobs.
More than half a million reservations are up from about 373000 disclosed in April 2016 for the Electric cars. Customers pay $1000 refundable deposits for the car which is for tax credits.
New buyers would not receive their car till the end of 2018, Elon said.
Musk said: “We’re going to go through at least six months of manufacturing hell.”
