Marketing in the Age of Computing; a web and mobile industry approach (Barrio Fiesta Case)



Cloud computing breaks conventional protocols not only to the business advertising and marketing industry but almost all aspects of sciences. Various SME companies in ASEAN region and beyond utilizes the web and mobile advertising communication to amplify their product specifications and services.  As such, many SME companies are upgrading their knowledge in terms of web and mobile advertising.









As my professional observation, small companies or SME companies are trying to catch this web and mobile marketing revolution by creating company websites and even creating accounts from the top social media companies like Facebook, google plus, and twitter etc. but what they don’t know that creating a website alone or creating a social media account is not enough to desiminate the company and product information.  

In this manner, companies must realize that every business or product in particular has its own internet community to consider.  Optimizing this approach, the systematized method of Search Engine Optimization or commonly called SEO is a way of targeting the right customers online and across the web.  Many academic text suggested the effective system of SEO inside the web.
With this regard, I would like to consider a restaurant business example in which this service oriented restaurant (Barrio Fiesta) (https://www.facebook.com/pages/Barrio-Fiesta-EDSA-Greenhills/175390892487873) is so famous during the 1950’s.  Though the restaurant still exist today, its popularity is nothing compared to those restaurants and fast food chains who are active in social media marketing.  Though the company is having their facebook account still internet segmentation using the concepts of “Kotler” can still be useful to accommodate the “A” customers online.  Indeed, using SEO system is one of the tools to optimize the searches from the web or mobile real time users but the integration of Information system and marketing theories should be considered in order to achieve quality customers online.








Discussing SEO in particular, optimizing the searches of the mobile and web users across the net requires the IT application to relate the business information across the web. Key words must be properly used to take the advances in actual searches of online users.  Backlinks on the other hand is also a useful way in optimizing the searches of many online bloggers and customers in a particular product segment.  Likewise, tagging or meta tagging is also a way to capture various similar websites that particular segmented customers will usually visit.  Statistically, tagging and linking with similar product offering websites will allow browsers with same interests to visit your website and discover your product related to the previous search.












Finally, SEO in general is the most discussed online marketing tool across the bloggers world and online marketers. If in the real world we don’t want to get into traffic, in the online world traffic is money.  Optimizing the web through your website, social media, and your product presentation in particular requires a thorough analysis as to where to link your website, what social media group you should disseminate your information or else you will be considered as a spammer.  Indeed, advancing your marketing reach across the web is the key to a successful online marketing strategy using the web and the mobile applications.
