Academic Reading and Referencing; Learning how to use the library and the internet for facts and reference gathering for university assignment (Week 4)
The final activity of the new university students for their intensive 4 week English course program is to know how to gather certified academic facts both from the library and the internet for academic evidence. To have this in formal writing and reading, the new students must know how to present the facts from reading to writing in an academic way.
The course expect to have the APA standard in recording the facts and integrating it to the university assignment. The aim of the instructor for reading class is to let the students read the facts from the book or the internet without copying the academic source but discussing it in writing with proper in text citation.
In this manner, the first year university students are now ready to do their writing and speaking assignments for class reporting. The whole 4 week course of the university intensive English course program was a success knowing that the students realized the importance of listening, speaking, reading, and writing in all their university assignments for their whole 4 year stay in the university. Gladly the program is helping a lot for their overall academic life.
As we go back to our normal university routine and way of studying, at least this summer the students tasted the learning speed of an International School through the leadership of Dr. Santikorn Pamornpathomkul (Ph.D., Economics, University of Central Florida, USA).
Until next summer. Goodbye everyone
