Inbetweenie/Plus Size Fashion Show Recap

On April 16th, 2016 the fabulous ladies above walked in the first Summer Inbetweenie/Plus Size Fashion Show brought to you by PinkLux & Belk at the Summit in Birmingham, AL. This women empowering event showcased fashion for the inbetweenie/plus size body and promoted local women entrepreneurs.

The mission of this event was to show women how to dress their bodies no matter your size or shape.

The thought to have this event came to me after I watched countless models walk in the New York Fashion Show (online) but realized none showed the bodies of real women. The average woman wears a size 10 and up in the United States. However, only women wearing a 00-2 are being shown wearing the clothes from top designers. After evaluating the ladies I style struggles I realized there were only a few top brands that carry stylish inbetweenie and plus size fashion.

Many times women say "Oh, I can't wear that" or "That won't look right on MY body". The ladies showed how breaking out of your shell and breaking all the rules in fashion bold colors, prints, and silhouettes can be worn on the inbetweenie (size 10-16) and plus size (size 18 and up) woman.
